A new report from the Parliamentary Budget Office finds that the Conservative government’s spending restraint program is focusing on front line services, while back office spending continues to rise.

That's exactly the opposite of promises made by Treasury Board President Tony Clement, who said last year that the majority of the spending cuts would target administrative and support costs and wouldn't affect service to the public.

To be followed shortly, no doubt, by a report that the Parliamentary Budget Office has had its own budget slashed...

Nothing says "commitment to your customers" like selling the platform out from under them.

When I got home from work yesterday I tossed all the empty beer and wine bottles that were cluttering up the garage into the back of the car, so I would remember to take them in today.

On the way to V's curling practice after dinner, the bottles were rattling around.

F: What is THAT NOISE?!?!?

Me: It's all the empty bottles in the back.

V: Well, you should take those back someday!
